In recent years, with the continuous development of medical image and computertechnology, computer aided diagnosis plays a more and more important role in clinicaldiagnosis, aroused attention of the majority of doctors and researchers. Medical3Dvisualization technology is an important research field of computer-aided diagnosis,The main contents of the study is to carry out a series of processing of medical volumedata, and achieve3D display on the computer screen rely on3D rendering. The doctorcan recognize the pathological change’s position, shape, size and other information bydirect observation of the3D structure on screen, in order to be able to diagnose thedisease more accurately.Application of the three-dimensional reconstruction algorithm is the key researchcontent of medical3D visualization, it has profound research significance. Accordingto the CT of head, this paper aim to design different medical image preprocessing andsegmentation methods, analysis several different methods for drawing process andeffect of the volume rendering. Put forward the medical image edge extraction methodbased on morphology, Study on simplified algorithm of surface rendering and3Dsmoothing method based on the equivalent surface. Experiments show that simplifyingmeshes in the surface rendering method based on iso-surface can effectively improvethe3D rendering speed; Use Surface features smoothing method, select the appropriatesmoothing times to smooth surface of3D body, can be obtained better rendering effect. This paper aiming at the DICOM image file format analysis and the data structureand method of reading3D volume data. Using3D visualization software VTK to readand achieved the reconstruction of surface rendering and volume rendering methods, and achieved the rotation, scaling and other simple interactive operation of3D bodythrough the mouse after the reconstruction.
