With the strong promotion of digital TV, the subscriber scale will be furtherexpanded. Because of the large-scale digital TV subscribers, plus the cost-effective ofdigital television advertising, companies tend to promote their products and servicesthrough digital TV. The forms of advertisement on digital television has also changedfundamentally, showing a variety of forms. Being interactive and targeted, digitaltelevision advertising has its own advantages in the market. At the same time,however, the digital television advertising also faces the challenge of Internetadvertising, more and more enterprises slowly turning to Internet advertising. In orderto stop the loss of business and attract more advertisers, a new advertising platformmust be designed and implemented.This thesis implemented the ad delivery sub-system of a digital television adplatform. According to the requirement of the ad delivery system and after readinglots of papers and related books, the thesis decided to use ehcache as the system’scache layer and use Struts2, Spring and Hibernate to implement the ad deliverysystem. The hierarchy architecture of the system consists of a data access layer, abusiness logic layer and a presentation layer, beside, a fa ade layer is added under thepresentation layer so the presentation layer will be able to just focus on the corebusiness of the ad delivery system and do not need to take care of the interfacesprovided by the cache managers. The two core functional modules of the system arethe web ad request processing module and the VOD ad request processing module,other modules are responsible for refreshing the system cache, recording the request of all ads and the click of web ads, which can then be mined for personalized ad.This thesis uses basic principles of software engineering to analyse, design andimplement the digital television ad delivery system. First, it analyzes the current stateof digital television ad. Second, it gives a brief description of what the system is goingto solve and the significance. Third, driven by the requirement of the system, itfinished the overall design and detailed design of the system which describe technicaldetail of system, the hierarchy architecture, the design and implementation of systemmodules. The achieved digital television ad delivery system has been integrated intothe digital television ad delivery platform, and deployed to function.
