Wireless Sensor Network with its low power consumption, low cost, distributedand self-organization characteristics brings a revolution of information perception.Coverage and energy consumption are two basic problems of wireless sensor network, this paper discusses the two points and illustrates the conclusion through simulation.Research on coverage of wireless sensor network. Firstly, the paper captures thecoverage problem including coverage model, classification and algorithms. Secondly, acomparison between point coverage and complete coverage as well as simulation ismade by analysis. The above demonstrated that point coverage can reduce the numberof sensors, and ensure the reliability of the network coverage.Research on energy consumption of wireless sensor network. The battery life isdetermined by the power, if any, expended by each node. Once all the power isconsumed, the nodes will failure. In order to get rid of the constraint of the unsatisfiedlifespan of the static information transmission induced by early dying out of someindividual node in wireless sensor networks, a dynamic event triggering andcooperation scheme is proposed here. At first, the available cuts are determined viaviable theorem. When the hop nodes that use too much energy, and its consumptioncomes to a certain degree, a switching will be triggered between the cuts cooperativelyto keep the load balance of information transmission, and on accounts of that, energyconsumption within and between the cuts turns into uniformity, so abortion of someindividual or several nodes in wireless sensor network can be prohibited, which enableslong lifespan of wireless sensor network finally. The optimal lifetime of each cut is alsofounded in this paper.Simulation results show that, the suggested method is powerful with validity.
