After new China is established, our government has on the seven educational reform. With the constant deepening of the reforms, The idea and the model of education is changing and improving. At the beginning of the21st century, with the development of science and technology, the transformation of society and the cultural pluralism lead to Basic Educational Reform face new opportunities and challenges in China. According to the strategy of prospering the nation and sustainable development, at the beginning of2001, the eight educational reform was carried out in China. There was multiple revision around curriculum standard and teaching material. Curriculum and teaching materials still is the central problem of basic educational reform.The paper focuses on the two biology editions about2012and2001of PEP edition, taking the idea of course, the way of the organization of the teaching material, the system of the pictures, as well as the design of the title of the contents, and try to discuss the guidance of teaching materials for teaching activities. Meanwhile, with the teacher’s interviews, analysis of the differences and similarities between the two editions teaching material. Judging by the comparison, the edition of2012is more in line with the concept of new curriculum, and focus on the construction of knowledge system and presentation the concept of science. The new teaching material arrange a more diverse research activities and experiments, for developing students’initiative exploration and the desire and ability of life-long learning.Combined with the compared results to summarize some conclusions:the edition of2012emphasized the important concepts; changed the learning style by thinking highly of experiment and exploration; show the times and cultivating students ability of integrate theory with practice. The paper has summed up some suggestions about the characteristics of the edition of2012:develop the teaching material courses to break through the heavy difficult point; strengthen the concept of teaching by making use of concept map; use the case teaching method to improve students learning interesting and ability; carry out the experiment and practice teaching effectively; pay attention to preview links; learning with network reasonable and so on. Try to provide some reference for teachers and students, in order to use the teaching material for achieving the teaching goal reasonably.
