It has been more than ten years since the implementation of our country’s foundation education curriculum reform. The new physical education curriculum ask PE teachers to use reasonable and diverse methods in order to carry out effective sports skill teaching. At the same time, the basic concept of PE and health curriculum come up with that PE teachers need to pay attention to students’ individual differences and ensure each student to be physical educated. Therefore, in the process of physical education teaching, PE teachers need to integrated use of a variety of teaching methods, trying to make students enjoy the process of PE learning, develop interpersonal communication, collaboration, and other social adaptability. The spectrum of teaching styles was introduced to the field of teaching physical education by Muska Mosston in1966, which includes11kinds of teaching styles. These different teaching styles were divided into two categories:reproduction teaching styles and production teaching styles. Using different teaching styles can form different teaching behavior. To keep abreast of teaching behavior can provide feedback for PE teachers, so they can improve their teaching methods. But we paid little attention for teaching behavior, so it is necessary to discuss and analyze the correlation between teaching style and teaching behavior. This study using the method of literature, video analysis, video observation and mathematical statistics, combined with the spectrum of teaching styles put forward by Muska Mosston, selected71complete PE classroom teaching video from countrywide middle and primary school PE teaching show in2003,2004,2006,2010. Made quantitative and qualitative analysis between different teaching styles and classroom teaching behavior. The objective of this study was to exploring the correlation between different PE teaching styles and classroom teaching behavior, and provide some basis reference for PE teachers to reasonably choose teaching styles. After the research and analysis, get the following conclusions:1. The thought of PE teachers is not enough to open up, and the teaching styles in our country’s PE class are not rich enough. PE teachers are not good at flexible using of production teaching styles to develop students’ creative thinking and inquiry skills. 2. Each teaching style is able to reach the established goal of teaching and promote students’ sport skill. This is similar to theory put forward by Mosston, in which he said there is no either-or relationship between different styles and there is no good or bad, each teaching style can reach the appropriate teaching goal.3. Choice of appropriate teaching styles can help PE teachers adjust the time structure of the classroom environment. Make them short the organization and management, reduce the time of knowledge explain, and increase students’ activity time.4. The use of different teaching styles did not help teachers to improve students’ participate in extra-curricular sports activities. Teachers’ concerns focused on the students’ curricular physical activity.
