Education fair is essential to national interest and people’s livelihood. And it’s the basic and the most important equal of society fair which our party and country leaders attach great importance to it. The communist party’s18th national congress put forward that takes great efforts to promote educational fair,dispatching resources appropriately, and focus on the rural, remote, poor, minority areas. In recent years, as our country pays more attention to the West and Middle areas schools, education is tend to be equal, and some dominants has made great progress. Such as rebuild the rural dangerous teaching buildings, arrange some equipment rooms for rural schools etc. But at the same time, some "hidden" fair has been ignored, just as the research of this thesis on the teaching material urbanization orientation. So further study in some "hidden" fair has been inevitable.The teaching material which is an important physical form of curriculum, carrier of knowledge and the main information resource for teachers and students whether it’s fair or not affects the instruction of teachers and learning of students. The past research mainly focused on the rationality of construction, the matching of practice, the updating of content and the quantity of knowledge and so on. These are just some technical aspects and paid less attention to the values of the textbook whether its "off peasant" or "for peasant". This paper analyzes the textbook as an entry point, and takes rural teachers and students feelings into consideration. And try to solve the problems of educational hidden unfair. For the research method, combine the theoretical ways with the practical ways in order to display the fact of English teaching material urbanization orientation, find the reasons and provide measures.There are five parts totally in this paper:The first one is the instruction which contains reasons of researching, meaning, method and the current research achievements. The second part uses the content analysis as the major methods analyzing the whole English textbook of Foreign Language Teaching and Research Press from illustration, passages, occupation and address, teaching means. The results are as follows:textbook illustration:there are no places for the rural scene. Passages:rural cultures are occupied by city cultures. Occupation and address: rural occupation and address gets the cold shoulder. Teaching means:the teaching and learning of rural teachers and students are in embarrassing situations. The third part takes Longsheng county and Yangshuo county Guilin city as examples and uses the practical method to make some investigations of rural schools. The specific practical ways contain the questionnaire and interview. Through that we get the subjectivity impression about English textbook of teachers and students. For teachers, they think that English textbook includes more city cultures and it makes the teaching harder, it requires advanced teaching equipments, it is too difficult to have a self-study for students. For students, they think that the English textbooks are far away from rural life and it affects its practical, it contains too much city knowledge so that affects their studies, it broadens their horizons and it becomes one of motivations for their studies. The forth part is to find the reasons of English teaching material urbanization orientation through researching some relative problems. There are four aspects resulting in this problem:The idea of the government exits aberration, decentralized funding of education. The restrict of family economy, lacking of family education. Rural school’s "hardware" is old and "software" is out. The single society environment results in lacking of information. The fifth part tries to find the ways to solve the problem based with predecessors study and combining my own research. The followings are five main strategies:Provide government support-it’s the basic guarantee to solve it. Optimize of textbook compilation-it’s the direct way to solve it. Strengthen teachers’ education-it’s the necessary choice to solve it. Implement compensation family education-it’s the best supplement to solve it. Fine accurate positioning of rural education-it’s the final destination to solve it. At last, the writer makes a conclusion from the research methods, paper construction. And in order to get some advice from experts and readers, and make the paper more perfect, the writer reflect on the shortcomings of this paper during the paper writing.
