Research on teacher culture has always been set on classroom as the breakthrough point by most previous researchers, while another key field of daily life for teachers was more often than not neglected, which is the "Teacher Office". According to the "Drama Theory" of Michael Gove, teacher office is neither completely belongs to the teachers’foreground, nor entirely belongs to the backstage for teachers. It has double properties of public sphere and private sphere. This study aims to analyze the culture in teacher office field, specifically studies the invisible cultural values, spiritual outlook and external words and deeds presented by teachers in the office, and provides theoretical and practical significance for the development of teacher profession.This research adopts qualitative research method as a whole, to learn and understand the daily life world of teachers, then mainly studies the teacher culture in the office. Mainly in ethnographic research methods from the horizontal to deep trace of teachers’ group culture, to life history research methods from the vertical to dig the teachers’ individual culture. In order to understand the teacher culture’s actual status, this study focuses on a selected middle school X in the city of Gui Lin, Guang Xi province. The researcher long-term "presence" in the Chinese Teacher Office,"active" in the other types of offices in the school, mainly for two months of field research though observations, interviews and physical collections of other ways.This research was carried out in the place of the teacher office, based on the theory of everyday life, and its foothold is to promote the teacher professional development. First, by describing the type of teacher office, the settings and features, showing the front line teachers living conditions and life style, revealing the teachers’office is the field of cultural development of teachers. Second, takes teachers’body as the carrier, perspective the commonalities of teacher group culture and analyze the teachers’body explicit symbol culture (Clothing, Speech, Posture), The body-carrying physical culture (Health, Pregnancy), as well as the teachers’ implicit spiritual culture (Role of teachers, Educational beliefs, Teaching wit). Third, set teacher A as an individual case, to analyze the process of growing up in the teachers’office. Interpretation the uniqueness of teachers’ individual culture, as well as between individual cultures and group culture, both inseparable relationship. Finally, interpretation the education implications of the teachers’ individual culture from ecology, sociology, pedagogy and diverse perspectives, reflect on the factors affecting teachers’cultural development. Aiming at the existing contradictions and conflicts of teachers in the office, explore and analysis the culture path of the teachers’ professional development. The development of teachers’individual culture from "free" to "self", the creation of teachers’group culture from the "separation" to "harmony", the change of school education culture from "bound" to "boot".This study provides a new breakthrough point and perspectives for the research about teacher culture development in our country, and helps to fill the gap of the teacher culture research in teachers’ office field. Focuses on "the people" in the start and bases on "the teachers" in the end, the purpose is to wake up the life value of the individual teacher and the cultural value of the professional group. Seek the intrinsic motivation of teacher development in the education system, to promote the individual teacher by external requirements "free culture" to heart spontaneous "self as a cultural", to promote the teachers’group to cultural consciousness.
