Tolerance is and will always be a virtue worthy of pursuit for our human beings. When it comes to the real situation in school, tolerance helps to preserve students’ differentiation, trustiness and their self-esteem, and meanwhile it can cultivate their personality and creativity. Campus environment and class atmosphere are lacking in tolerance, which will definitely lead to the deviation of tolerance education from its original meaning. Based on the research conducted on hundreds of teachers, this paper tries to perceive the fact of the lack of tolerance education among teaching through questionnaires and field observations, and to analyze the deeper reason for the failure of the tolerance education deeply via both questionnaires and interviews. Then, on the basis of the combination of theory and practice, the thesis puts forward a strategy of a comprehensive and reasonable tolerance education for teachers. In addition to the introduction, the paper mainly consists of three parts:The first chapter explores the fact of the lack of tolerance education. Through a combination of questionnaires and interviews, the author finds that the lack of tolerance education includes the lack and the deviation of tolerance education The lack of tolerance education means there is no real tolerance education, while the deviation of tolerance education shows the insufficient, inadequate and inappropriate aspects of tolerance education. By revealing the lack and the deviation of tolerance education among schools, this paper demonstrates that students are suffering from the negative impact of the "non-tolerance", which should be a horn of warning to all the teachers.The second chapter focuses on the real reason for the lack of tolerance education. The author uses a combination of interviews and cases as the main method. The study shows that the reason for the lack of tolerance education lies in the deviation of teachers’educational purpose, the inequality of relationship between teachers and students, the intolerance of educational atmosphere and the influence of teachers’ personal factors on the their cognition, emotion and practice of tolerance education.Combining the fact and the reason for intolerance among teachers, the third chapter proposes that it is really wise of teachers to adopt the following two steps for a reasonable and comprehensive educational road. Firstly, as educators, teachers had better educate themselves first by establishing the ideas of tolerance education which include treating different students objectively, treating students’query skillfully, treating students’"faults" frankly, treating students’offence rationality, and treating students’human-weakness positively. Secondly, teachers should educate themselves and explore ways of tolerance education before educating others. These methods are redefining one’s educating role, adjusting one’s mood, building a tolerant educational environment and mastering ways and principles of punishment.
