Research Of Population Scale Control In Guangzhou City

Along with China’s market economy development and the deepening of urbanization, Guangzhou has a swell in the city’s population. The rapid growth of population, the increase of floating population in particular, has brought favorable conditions to the development of Guangzhou’s economy and society, yet it also has caused severe challenges to public services such as social security, city management, environment, resources, transportation, education, culture, housing,etc. It is very significant to implement empirical analysis and policy study on population scale of Guangzhou City, so as to work out the population planning and policy measures, to regulate the size of population and to promote the harmonious and sustainable development of population, social economy and resource environment.This paper analyzes the status, characteristics and evolution process of population development in Guangzhou; analyzes and evaluate the bearing capacity of the population in Guangzhou under multi-objective condition; assesses Guangzhou current population policies, measures and implementation effect from the aspect of legislation, city planning, public service resources, labor and employment, industrial policy, the service and management of floating population; predicts the future of Guangzhou population trends;Thinking of Guangzhou city population problems, based on the idea of "people oriented" and the population quantity, quality, structure, distribution and resources and environment, the harmonious relationship between industrial development and social public services, aiming at the problem of population control in Guangzhou and centering on the PEIP system (population-environment-Industry-public service), this paper proposes suggestion that there must be an integrated approach for the population development, city development planning, industrial development planning, basic public service improvement and strengthening population service management, so as to do well in Guangzhou population scale control work and promote the sustainable development of Guangzhou’s population, economy, society and resource environment,...
