Picture book is a kind of art that through the matching of the picture and text to tell astory. Picture book reading is an active process of construction that the reader getsinformation from the picture book, to connect, inference and obtain reading comprehensionand experience. Chinese comprehensive learning, as a new form of course, reflects the newconcept of chinese curriculum. And it is a breakthrough of Chinese curriculum reform, butalso a bright spot in the Chinese curriculum content. However, the teaching of primaryschool Chinese comprehensive learning in China today is not optimistic. Picture bookreading has multiple values which coincide with the requirement of Chinesecomprehensive learning. The introduction of picture book reading into Chinesecomprehensive learning of the lower-grade elementary school, could not only fully developthe pluralistic value of picture book, but also provide the curriculum resources for theChinese comprehensive learning, so that the Chinese comprehensive learning moredynamic. Before reading the picture book, it is necessary to study curriculum and carefullyprepare lessons. When reading picture book, we can use a variety of ways includingindependent reading, group reading and the reading under the guidance of teacher. Afterreading picture book, we can do proper extension activities, in order to promote theimplementation of the objectives of Chinese comprehensive learning.
