Middle school education is an important part of our socialist education enterprise. While, as anindispensable important part of the middle school education, the middle school physical education isalso a key aspect of personnel training. With the development of our education, training modes andeducation concepts have been updated, gradually completing the change from the "exam-orientededucation" to "quality education", which requires middle school physical education to cultivatestudents’ consciousness to form lifetime physical exercise habits, helping students to set up the correctsports outlook, values, making the students to get comprehensive development.Physical teachers play an important role in physical education. At the same time, the developmentof them decides the development of the sports education. The middle school students are the flowersof our motherland, so physical education teachers have an obligation to care, and train them. This isalso the responsibility of PE teachers. The21st century is a new era which has a new request for theability of physical education teachers. Whether the PE teachers can truly take on the responsibilitieson cultivating flowers of our motherland is the problem to be solved before us. Therefore, it isimportant to have such a study on the middle school PE teachers’ job abilities, which can paycontributions to comprehensively improve the ability of middle school physical education teachers.This research uses the literature material method, Delphi method, survey method, mathematicalstatistics, and logic analysis, referring to a large amount of documents and books about teachers’professional ability, through questionnaires to experts and parts of the middle school physicaleducation teachers, with some pundits and interviews with a line of physical education teachers toensure common responsibilities of PE teachers in middle schools, understanding the responsibilitiesand problems of middle school physical education teachers at present, and obtained the PE teachers’work responsibilities and some first-hand information. Further, the thesis uses the Delphi method toscreen the middle school PE teachers ability to filter the composition of the indicators, and accordingto the indexes, using questionnaire investigation about the present situation of the middle school sportsteachers’ professional ability. In turn, by mathematical and statistical methods for data statistics,summering the results and interviews to get information, organizing and making a logical analysis,then come to the conclusion of the thesis. Results indicate that: the professional ability of the middle school PE teachers’ overall level ishigh. The educational ability is the highest, next is the teaching ability, then the organization andmanagement ability, while the extracurricular sports training ability is normal, and the scientificresearch innovation ability is poor.For improving the professional ability level of the middle school physical education teachers inShijiazhuang, the thesis puts forward the following five suggestions: the first is that the ministry ofeducation issued only PE teachers’ ability standards, but there is no clear specific rules about PEteachers’ job responsibilities, so the thesis suggests the local education department should set clear PEteachers’ job responsibilities in combination with the practical situation of the local conditions, and tobe issued to each school, urging the physical education teachers to act out. The second is to make theschool attaches great focus on physical education, showing that the "focus" is not only a flag-waving,but more for exercise, letting the physical teachers have the opportunity to study and communication,at the right time the schools should organize expert lectures, teacher training and so on, and toencourage teachers in-service training, strengthen PE teachers’ own literacy; The third is to perfect theevaluation system. The basic reasonable distribution of physical education teachers’ title is slightlylow, that is not mean PE teachers’ ability is poor, but mainly because of the characteristics of sportsdiscipline. The current teacher evaluation system is relatively too general, which is not specific to eachsubject, therefore advice to teachers’ evaluation should be specific to each subject. The forth is PEteachers themselves should keep learning, and constantly improve their ability, cultivating theconsciousness of life-long learning. The fifth is the university physical education course should addthe scientific research course, to train the innovative thinking of physical education teachers,improving the innovative ability of physical education teachers.
