In21stcentury, science and technology has a rapid development in society.Informatization level continuously improves. As the core of the modern informationtechnology computer technology is widely used in the field of education. They have broughtnew opportunities for the reform and development of education and energy. They also putforward different levels of challenges to teachers’ education teaching.For teachers, the ability to advance with the times, constantly enhance their learning, tomeet the challenges of the information age not only affects the overall quality of our teachers,teachers themselves can determine the competence of teachers in the profession, but alsoaffects the education of our country future. If you only have a teacher to teach their ownexpertise in disciplines, only seeking to develop in their professional disciplines, is unable tomeet the information age requirement for teachers. In this era, improve teacher informationliteracy has become a problem which can not be ignored and teachers need to solve in theinformation age.Meanwhile, in today’s society, with globalization and the deepening of information,Exchange of political, economic, cultural have become increasingly frequent.these makeEnglish more important in work, learning and life. Learn English, master the Englishlanguage as a communication tool have a very important practical significance for eachstudent to understand the world, broaden their horizons, to integrate into society and so on.So for English subjects, the secondary stage of learning is crucial. Economic development,social progress and development of basic education put forward higher requirements to thequality of English teachers in middle school. An English teacher in the information age needsto improve information literacy to meet the challenges of teaching work. From a geographicperspective, the rural basic education is a relatively weak link in our country’s education.However, rural living environment is relatively isolated. Teaching facilities are relativelybackward. The quality of teachers are relatively low, Teachers’ information literacy isparticularly lacking in the absence of hardware environments. These results in rural educationcannot develop well. And because of the concept of parents and school infrastructure, in many disciplines of education, English education has been a difficult school education in rural areas.Rural middle school English teachers face more current difficulties and challenges. As theimportance of information literacy for middle school English teachers, and present situationof English subjects in rural schools, this article will study the rural middle school Englishteachers in Nanpi Country, Hebei Province. Try to make a survey of rural English teachers’information literacy in Nanpi County to find out the information literacy of local middleschool English teachers, and try to identify problems and explore strategies for tackling theactual local situation based on survey data. I hope to change the educational concept of localrural middle school English teachers, have a positive meaning for teachers to improve theunderstanding of information literacy, provide a reference for secondary school teachers inrural areas to enhance information literacy.This paper is divided into five parts. The first part is an introduction, which introduceinnovations raised the issue, research position, research methods, and the significance andstatus of domestic and external research and study. The second part describes the concepts ofinformation literacy, the proposition and development of information literacy. Describe theconnotation of teachers’ information literacy and provides a theoretical foundation for thenext study. The third part is a rural middle school English teacher information literacyresearch. I try to understand the status of rural Nanpi County high school English teachers’information literacy through questionnaires and analyze the data. Try to find reasons for thelack of information literacy and find methods. The fourth part is about suggestions to increaseinformation literacy. The fifth part is the conclusion of this study. Summarize the process andthe results of the paper and have a reflection.
