Research On College Student’s Independent Personality Cultivation

Personality refers to the integrated characteristic of psychology, physiology, ideologyand behavior of people’s self-survival principles and concepts formed in their survival anddevelopment course. It’s the inner base line for people to show their social images, the basisand code for them to handle contradictions, the personalized integration of inner ideas throughconscientiousness, morals and legal norms and a kind of stable physical and mentalcharacteristic which can be influenced by some internal or external factors such as worldviews and traditional views. Independent personality refers to personality’s ability ofindependent grasp and autonomous control and presentation of state, the individualperformance of positive physical and mental state presented in the process of independentlymeeting various challenges to solve survival contradictions, and individuals’ personalizedperception and manifestation for comprehensively united laws on the basis of undertakingtraditions and conforming to developmental trends. It’s one of the important symbols of acountry’s democratic and prosperous civilization for the contemporary college studentsreceiving higher education to have sound and independent personality.In order to fulfill the comprehensive development of our society and the increasingsocial demands, it’s imperative to cultivate college students’ independent personality in thispaper can be generalized as: they are able to focus on positive and healthy developmentdirection of independently judging their own personality characteristics and form independentwillpower; they can improve their thinking and behavior ability and quality based onreceiving the man contents of China’s ideological and political education; they have positiveand stable thinking and behavioral state of fully realizing their own value and social valuethrough social behaviors independently.The main structure of this paper is: based on Chinese and Western personality theory,grasp the internal relations between personality and college students’ independent personalityas well as the significance of cultivating college students’ independent personality. Accordingto the main principle of cultivating college students’ independent personality, the paperdetermines the main contents of cultivating college students’ independent personality.Through analysis on various factors that lead to college students’ lack of independentpersonality and scientific understanding of college students’ major performance of lackingindependent personality, the paper has concluded main countermeasures for cultivation ofcollege students’ independent personality.
