With five thousand of Chinese nation passing on, the traditional Chinese culture is the spiritual support and culture source for the continuation of the Chinese civilization. Confucianism as the foundation of Chinese traditional culture, contains extensive and profound education theory and cultural resources which has significant educational function. Confucius, founder of Confucianism, is the first great famous ancient educator who first started private education. He gave lectures in qufu, proposed many education ideas such as "no child left behind","teaching". Since then, students of Confucius inherited the thought that Confucius attaches great importance to education. In the past two thousand years of inheritance and precipitation a complete and mature system of education gradually established. Even with today’s eyes looking, we also can feel the enormous value of Confucian education thought. Although Confucianism is aimed at maintaining the feudal rule, we can’t deny its inherent excellent content, especially its value for the current ideological and political education. On one hand, main meaning of ideological and political education is to cultivate and improve the students’moral cultivation. On the other hand, it is to improve our country’s cultural soft power. In recent years, although the ideological and political education has made great progress, with the development of economic society and the diversity of social mainstream culture, ideological and political education is faced with many opportunities and challenges. To apply Confucianism dialectically in ideological and political education, can not only provide the new curriculum innovation and reform innovation and reform of new curriculum with new motivation and elements, but also respond to the CPC central committee on "promote cultural development boom".It is not only inheriting and carrying forward of the traditional culture, but also is the inevitable requirement of building culture with Chinese characteristics.There are five sections in this paper. The introduction mainly introduces researchers at home and abroad and their research methods; The second chapter mainly gives "culture","Chinese traditional culture","Confucianism", its way of thinking and ethics, foreshadowing for the below. The third chapter discusses the significance and current situation of the ideological and political education, and explains the reason why ideological and political education lacks the essence of Confucianism, The fourth chapter, discusses the value and meaning of Confucianism in ideological and political education based on the above discussions. Finally in the fifth chapter concludes that realizing ways of Confucianism in the ideological and political education.
