In the new century, China had gradually become the aging society. Forty years fromnow, aging population will continue to deepen, which will bring more agingpopulation problems. China will also face the challenges which come from all aspectsof society, economy and others. In the growing aging population, while theconsumption level of Chinese residents grew very slowly, compared with some otherdeveloped countries, China’s consumer price index rises fast and the residents’ultimate consumption rate is low. Many reasons affect the consumption, but the agingpopulation is undoubtedly one of them.The purpose of this article is to draw on a variety of methods based on quantitativeand qualitative analysis through a combination of methods to analyze the impact ofaging population on Jilin Province’ consumer. This paper can be divided into fiveparts:The first part is the introduction, which introduces the research background andsignificance of this writing, and discusses the relevant experts’ and scholars’researchin china and abroad on the aging population and its impact on the consumption ofexisting academic achievements, especially focusing on the aging populationeconomic development and consumer demand.The second part is the basic concepts and theories. It explains the concepts ofpopulation structure, the aging population and other related concepts by a systematicintroduction and explanation, and one example of the operation of the principle oflife-cycle analysis of the theory.In the third part, the sixth census of Jilin Province and the latest "Jilin StatisticalYearbook2013" as the data basis, detailing the status of the aging population in JilinProvince, causes and trends. Basing on the sixth census for Jilin data, make a forecast of the population in Jilin Province for the next40years.The fourth part is the research on the effect of aging population on consumptionlevels for residents in Jilin Province, using the linear regression equation, indicatingthat the level of aging population has a significant impact on the consumption of theresidents in Jilin Province. It is the research focus.The fifth part is the relevant policy recommendations. It will summarize this paper,and make some reference to the significance of policy recommendations about theaging population in Jilin Province.
