Schema is a structured generalization unit organized stably around a topic. It is acognitive framework to understand input information. The study will be meaningful only ifthey put the new knowledge into their existing schema, or modify their existing schema tocreate a new one. Studying the application of schema theory in senior biology teaching ishelpful to the in-depth understanding of the biology knowledge and to improve thebiological quality further.Biology schema refers to the knowledge unit and cognitive framework which thestudents process and sort while learning. It is often organized around a topic forcharacterization of biological knowledge and understanding the biological phenomena tosolve the problems of biology. Biology schema is knowledgeable, abstract, designable,stable and developing. It can be obtained from hyperplasia, adjustment and reconstructionand plays an important role in selection and processing of information. It helps while thestudents predict and reason the events. And it is important in knowledge transfer andproblem solving.This research mainly explored the application of schema theory in teaching strategyaround the biology concept teaching and problem solving. The research puts forward thestrategies of pattern identification, sample induction, the overall construction, problemschema forming and the strategy of scheme optimization. Then the thesis explores theapplication of these strategies for the students to obtain, to revise, to select and to usebiology schema through the teaching practice. The study shows that these strategies canhelp students deepen the understanding of concepts, improve their ability to solveproblems, improve their academic performance.
