| The eighth elementary education curriculum reform, which is led by the CPCcentral committee and the state council, is nationwide carried out in a rapid way. Ithas been15years since the reform’s beginning. New curriculum standards had beencarried out in some schools in September2001, and then the New PE and HealthCurriculum Syllabus (the experimental revised edition)was carried out on a nationalscale. Meanwhile, the PE and Health Curriculum standards was tried out in38national experimental areas, and the areas increased to500counties in September2002and further expanded to the whole country in September2003. The New PE andHealth Curriculum Standard(sthe revised edition)was accomplished in2011, and wasissued and enforced in the fall of2012.Using methods of literature analysis, questionnaire and mathematical statistics,the research investigates and analyzes the status quo of PE teaching in ten juniorschools in Cangzhou city, to get a comprehensive understanding about the schools’status quo under the background of new curriculum standards, to find theachievements, deficiencies, causes and solutions of that, and to provide theoreticalreferences and practical basis for the smooth implementation of new curriculumstandards.According to the investigation and analysis, the research makes the followingconclusions: There’s different levels of lack of sites and equipment in junior middleschools in Cangzhou; teachers’ age structure is reasonable,but their educational levelsare not high on the whole;to some extent, the evaluation of teachers’ title wasmodeled; there are many problems in the implementation of the new curriculumstandards that needs to be solved; different teachers has different ideas about newcurriculum concept; the status of PE teachers cannot get improvement, and their wagelevel is lower than other teachers’; PE teachers’ teaching methods can’t meet therequirements of new curriculum standards, their thoughts are very conservative, andthey are not willing to accept the new teaching methods.Based on the above conclusions, the research puts forward the following suggestions: School leaders and teachers should attach importance to the affectsof sports ground, facilities and equipment on the PE teaching, and try to solve theproblem of fund insufficiency; Constantly optimize the teachers’ age structure,andincrease the proportion of young teachers; School leaders should require PE teachersto strengthen the studying of the new curriculum standards; PE teachers should realizethe importance of learning and studying the new curriculum standards and changetheir roles in PE teaching, to keep up with the pace of the reform of PE teachingmethod; the school should actively create good opportunities for PE teachers’ trainingand studying, and introduce some advanced teaching methods; As for the teachingcontent, the school should introduce some new and national traditional projectsaccording to the actuality, to vigorously develop school-based curriculum teachingcontent, to meet students’ needs, and to constantly perfect the evaluation system of PEteaching. |
