Newly-issued Senior biology Curriculum Standards lay emphasis on the connectionbetween the biology teaching and the real life, advocate the cultivation of students’ biologicalscientific literacy and require students to be able to apply the biological concepts, theory andmethod to the real life, practice and Individual decision making. The biological situationalexercises come from the real life, social production and science and technology. Teacherscould use such situated exercises to help the students know the close connection between thebiological science and the social life, production and development. This study not onlyenriches theoretical research of the biological situational exercises but also enriches theteaching material and examination database in practical through the compilation of the seniorbiology situated exercises. It also could provide the frontline teachers with teaching andexercises materials.The biological situational exercises with the background of the specific materialsrequires the students to use the principles, basic concepts and methods of biology to expoundmaterial information in questions and solves the relative exercises.Compared with nonsituational exercises,The biological situational exercises have distinguishing feature andeffect. Its features are reflected in specific background, original situation, flexible form andeasy to use. Based on these features, the biological situational exercises’ exceptional effect isreflected in helping students relate theory with practice, broaden knowledge, improvepractical ability, increase the interest to study and arouse creativity thinking. In order to probedeeply into the current biological situational exercises, the writer makes a survey on thefrontline teachers and analysis the biology paper of college entrance examination in the past5years. This study lays a theoretical foundation for further compilation and analysis ofbiological situational exercises.The compilation of the biological situational exercises is mainly researched in this thesis.The compilation of the biological situational exercises should follow seven unique and preciseprinciples. This thesis mainly probes into five steps about the biological situational exercises,i.e. the search and screen of material, the keynote of material, the establishment of examiningaims and material processing and the formation of questions. This thesis is based on threebooks of High school biology. The wirier compiled the biological situational exercises on herown and classified the content according to chapter. Through the compilation of the biologicalsituational exercises, the writer summarized four questions during the compilation.In order to evaluate the biological situational exercises, the writer made a test on6teachers and12students from Wu’an No.10Middle School through individual and conversation survey and carried on the quality analysis from six ways i.e. analysis onexamination papers, scientificity on exercises, tightness on situation, abundance on content,practice on questions and suitability on the development and difficulty of thinking.
