Cai Who Study Aesthetic Theory Of Humanism

Cai Yuanpei, the founder of Chinese modern aesthetics, contributes mainly to the aesthetic education in his entire life from the standpoint of human. The paper intends to explore Cai yuanpei’s important thought of aesthetic education from the aspect of humanism.The author first introduces the research status, purpose and meaning of Cai yuanpei’s aesthetic education of humanism, and then elaborates Cai yuanpei’s aesthetic education of humanism and Cai yuanpei himself. Under in influences of Western aesthetics, civil traditional aesthetics, and the demands of "save the nation from subjugation and ensure its survival" at that time, Cai yuanpei appeals to solution of reforming the nation in order to change situation of China at that time. In the following part, the author explores the contents and characteristics of aesthetic education of humanism and illustrates the significance of "people foremost" from the aspects of enlightenment, reformation, and practicalness. In part four, the author explores the value and significance of aesthetic education of humanism in Chinese history of modern aesthetic education and culture, and the educational function of aesthetics is stressed greatly, especially the thought of "substituting aesthetic education for religion", which demonstrates the core of Cai yuanpei’s thought of aesthetic education. In part five, the author explores the significance and limitation of Cai yuanpei’s thought of aesthetic education.
