| Family education is one of the three parts of education and it plays an important role in a person’s whole life development. While, parents’education, as the foundation of education, directly influents the family education and parents’qualities. Concerning about the reality, China is a large agricultural country with over half rural population. So it is obvious that the rural family education is of much importance. Because to developing rural parents’education is helpful not only to meet the needs of rural parents’identification and self-esteem but also to the popularization of Lifelong Education in China.Therefore, this research takes rural parents’education as the theme under the theory of Lifelong Education in order to draw attention of the whole society, change the conventional ideas of rural family education, improve the education qualities of rural parents, promote the rural economy and spiritual culture development, and accelerate the establishment of the harmonious society in China. First, the importance of parents’education especial in rural area gets emphasized in the paper, and then the survey is carried out for the parents of students in compulsory education stage of Xingxian County of Lvliang, Shanxi. By the survey, the information of the localparents’ education qualities and the parents’ education condition areacquired. Based on the information, referred to the advancedexperiences of foreign parents’ education and combined with thelocal reality, some advices and solution are made to improve ruralparents’ education qualities in this paper. The whole research isdivided into the following four parts:First part is the introduction. It is about the origin and background,the aim and the meaning, the basic theories and some essentialconcepts. Besides, the research condition and development ofLifelong Education in China, rural family education, parents’education and the condition in rural area are summarized in theliterature review.Second part is focused on the survey and analysis of the parents’education condition in Xingxian County of Lvliang, Shanxi, includingthe introduction of the survey objections, research methods andprocess, survey results analysis and the conclusion. This survey,combining questionnaire with interview, contains the situation of thefamily basic information, parents’ education equalities, local parents’education training organizations development and parents’participation as well as parents’ self-education. It takes nearly200parents as the survey objection, whose kids are in the PrimarySection of Xingxian Experimental Middle School.In the third part, some advices are made to improve rural parents’education, which are based on the survey results analysis, referred tosome foreign parents’ education experiences, combined with Chineserural area reality. These advices are some specific implementation of rural parents’ education in five aspects of parents’ education likeconcepts, contents, forms, legal systems and self-educationawareness etc.The last part is the conclusion. It emphasizes the meaning of ruralparents’ education and the relation to Lifelong Education and calls onthe whole society to attach more importance to rural parents’education and offer great support, which in turns makes contributionto the popularization of Lifelong Education in China. |
