In China, the Track and Field Traditional Event Schools got started in the1980s, which not only are the important parts of the all-round development of the school physical education, but also shoulder the great responsibility of cultivating the track and field backup talents that is closely connected with the strategic height of the development of competitive sports and affects "Program of Striving for Olympic Glory" greatly. In recent years, the Track and Field Traditional Project Schools have encountered many problems in the process of education innovation.Through the methods of literature study, questionnaire survey, face-to-face interview and mathematical statistics, a thorough investigation has been made on the present development of21Track and Field Traditional Event Schools (including11primary schools and10middle schools) in Xi’ an City in multi ways. It mainly talks about the project layout, the sports funds, the enthusiasm of the coaches, the contradiction between learning and training, the training and transform of track and field sports talents, the better development of the excellent sports talents. The results are as follows:1."Examination-oriented education" model led to the traditional items of the individual track and field school leaders’paying enough attention to the management of a lack of intensity. The track is difficult to get the attention of school leaders, and even physical education teachers with other subject teachers in the treatment compared to the existence of a relatively large gap.2. Showing the form of a multi-channel sources of funding of the track and field training schools in Xi’an, mainly relying on government funding, the majority of funding is resolved by the schools themselves, and other sources of less than normal, which largely restricts the development of track and field project schools, but also exposes the following problems, such as funds’ not being implemented, obsolete facilities, venues and equipment, less chances to compete and many other issues.3. In Xi’an Athletics traditional schools, physical education teachers’education level is basically rational and educated to a college education, but weak in research awareness.4. The obvious contradiction between learning and training is that parents do not agree with the athletes’training, so the quality of training is difficult to be guaranteed.5. The school management mode of operation is still relatively homogeneous.Faced with the existing problems, I put forward the following countermeasures and suggestions: 1. Plan scientifically, perfect management system, and strengthen the traditional project on track and field support strength of the schools. Establish incentive competition mechanism, improve multiple economic security system, mobilize the enthusiasm of the coaches, perfect training system of the coaches, improve the coaches’ scientific training level, and enhance the professional ability and coaches’ scientific research ability.2. The reasonable arrangement of good training and learning time is necessary, meanwhile spare no efforts to guide the parents of the good athletes, letting parents understand the importance of work after school training and relieve the worries of parents to get long support and cooperation, and reduce the athletes’pressure coming from a family, better arrange good learning and training time, properly solve the learning and training of conflict.3. Use a variety of operation mode, raising many development funds to strengthen the sports system of the transverse joint, making full use of local higher sports colleges and universities such as common resources, and properly solve the problem of the athlete entrance.
