A new curriculum reform was launched in1999. And the educational objectives inthe new curriculum of Fundamental Education, the core and soul of the curriculumreform, the specification of the educational policy, the beginning of the curriculumreform, was clearly stated in Compendium of Curriculum Reform of FundamentalEducation(trial), which is a unprecedented breakthrough in the history of ChineseFundamental Education.It is still to be judged objectively whether the examination papers based on thecollege entrance examination can reflect the concept of the new curriculum, realize thefunction of selection and have an instructive effect. There being few researches on thisfiled, whether the objectives of geography in college entrance examination has beenrealized will be discussed in this paper through some Examination paper evaluation caseof geography chosen.Based on the theoretical guidance of pedagogy, psychology and Curriculum andTeaching Methodology, on the guiding ideology of ‘three orientations’ and on theoutline of curriculum criterion and Examination Syllabus, geography papers of collegeentrance examination have been surveyed and estimated so that this paper can wellserve secondary school, improve its quality and advance students’ development.In the first part, the background and significance of examination paper evaluationis stated; the research situation and related results briefly outlined; and the purpose,content, thought and method shortly explained.In the second part, the connections between Geographic college entranceexamination evaluation and Geographic college entrance examination reform,Geographic college entrance examination evaluation and The new geographycurriculum,Geographic college entrance examination evaluation and geographicalteaching are illustrated.In the third part, the basic knowledge, subject ability and subject characteristicsof Geographic college entrance examination examination paper evaluation are examplified and explained.In the forth part, the general steps, reasonable sampling and statistic analysis areexplained and surveyed; the difficulty, distinction, reliability and validity areexplained; the design of the objective questions and multiple questions is also discussed.In the comprehensive evaluation I also conduct the research on the candidate responsesanalysis and teaching suggestions.At the end of the paper, a brief summary is made and also some questions are putforward including: how to estimate Geographic college entrance examination paperscientifically; the examples in the paper and the point of view are all personal; somebasic skills and thoughts are not discussed in the paper.
