Xinjiang is located in the western border of the motherland,it has become the preferred areaof the national separatists and religious extremism, terrorism and foreign hostile forcesimplementation separatist activities in China, because of its special geographical location, socialand ethnic distribution."Three evil forces" declared " must scramble for a knowledgeable persons,must develop the strength in colleges", they use a variety of means to win over the collegestudents in Xinjiang, to make them as a pawn of separatist activities, these conspiraciesthreatening the national unity in colleges in Xinjiang. With higher political in conductingnational unity education in Xinjiang than the inland colleges,the national unity education incolleges in Xinjiang is directly related to great-leap-forward development and long period ofstability、related to the great rejuvenation of the Chinese Nation.The research combed scholars’ study about students’ associations’ function and role basedon the leaning of the theory of the national unity education,then selected typical Co-schoolingcolleges as samples,include Xinjiang University, Xinjiang Normal University, XinjiangAgricultural University, Xinjiang University of Finance and Economics, Kashgar TeacherCollege and Hotan Teachers College etc. taking literature method, observation method, socialinvestigation method to investigate the role of college students’ associations in the national unityeducation and the restricting factors,then gave some advice in order to make its have full role inthe national unity education. First of all, the paper described the background and significance ofthe topics,and made the prediction and assessment of the innovation. By elaborate on the conceptand type of the college students’ associations in Xinjiang, showing their the development historyand current situation. In the third part of the paper, focuses on the analysis of the role of thecollege students’ associations in the national unity education in Xinjiang, for example:the collegestudents’ associations can strengthen the effectiveness of the national unity education, expandingthe field of the national unity education, enriching the carrier of the national unity education,innovating the forms of the national unity education, etc.And the paper analyzes the restricting factors to play a full role in the national unity education from colleges, the students’associations,members. Finally, the paper gave some operable suggestion and methods based onthe thinking of how to play a full role in the national unity education.The innovation of the paper lies in: the research through the analysis of literature and theobservation and interviews of the members, it had found that the college students’ associationshave the unique role in the national unity education; analyzes the restricting factors to play fullrole in the national unity education,and in order to give full role in the national unity education,gave some advice to colleges,students’ associations,members; the research enriched on thetheory the role of the college students’ associations.
