With the21st century coming, China launched a new round of curriculum reform.One of the focus of the curriculum reform is the change of the textbooks management system.In the past,the People’s Education Press monopolized to edit the textbooks for the senior middle school.Now, many presses are admitted to edit the textbooks for the senior middle school. After the release of Math Curriculum Standard of Ordinary Senior Middle School’’(experiment),with five different editions of math textbooks appearing, the ordinary senior middle school education started to face many new challenges:which edition of math textbook is better according to the new curriculum standard and most suitable for the students in a specific school; how can we use the math textbooks more effectively.lt is very important for the success of the ordinary senior middle school education to find out the answer to the above questions.Thus,we attempt to compare and research some editions of the textbooks of Selected Topics in Geometrical Proof in order to answer these questions.The textbooks published by PEP are most widely applied nowadays and most valuable to research, so the thesis takes two editions of math textbooks which are published by PEP as researching objects and chooses the part of selected topics in geometrical proof,which is option4-1in the editions.In the research process, with the methods of document analysis,comparison research statistic analysis and so on, the author is not only cared for the qualitative research, but also made use of some data model for quantitative research, trying to support own argument with the numbers.The aspects of researching are as following:Firstly, the thesis mainly analyzed from three aspects:the present order, knowledge presentation, expression.The conclusions are those:on the present order, Edition A adopts "Procession" more frequently than Edition B and pay attention to structure at the same time;on knowledge presentation,"Problem" is adopted by both Edition A and Edition B,but Edition A is more enlightening and suit for being selected by the school whose students are poorly prepared; on expression, both Edition A and Edition B adopt a lot of symbolic languages, which is in keeping with the psychology trait of senior school student.Secondly,in this thesis, the examples and exercises in two editions of the textbooks are compared from the number and type.The research shows that:the examples of two edition textbook is very high similarity in quantity and types; The number of exercises in edition B is larger and the kinds of exercises in edition B are more richer."Math Exercises Comprehensive Difficulty Model",advanced by Mr. Bao Jiansheng,the doctor in East China Normal University,is adopted to research the difficulty of the math examples and exercises. The results of the study are that the difficulty of the math examples and exercises is similar.Thirdly,"Course Difficulty Model",advanced by Mr. Shi Ningzhong and Mr.Kong Fanzhe,the professors in Northeast Normal University,is adopted to research the difficulty of the math course.The conclusion is the courses of edition B is more difficulty than those of edition A.According to the above study,the author points that both Edition A and Edition B are edited according to Math Curriculum Standard of Ordinary Senior Middle School(experiment) and can satisfy the requirement of senior middle school; Edition A are more suited for the school whose students were poorly prepared.
