Marxism popularization is an important subject of Marxism theory at present. Colleges and universities are forefront on promoting Marxism popularization. Which is a requirement of cultivating qualified builders and reliable successors; strengthening socialist ideological; advancing the national culture soft power; advocating practice spirit. The condition of the world, of our country, of our society and people has changed profoundly at present, the characteristics of ideological struggle is with more and more hardship, twists, complexity, concealment and long-term, Marxism as China’s mainstream ideology is facing huge challenge; and our country is under the key period of social transformation, together with the economic globalization, political multi-polarization, cultural diversity, information network and life style diversity, promoting Marxism popularization in universities and colleges is facing more and more variables and complexities. The aims of promoting Marxism popularization in universities and colleges is to arm the college students with Marxism theory, let the students understand, accept, grasp and practice Marxism, this process itself also needs theory support. This paper is closely around with four questions:What is promoting Marxism popularization? Why Marxism should be popularized? What is the condition of promoting Marxism popularization in universities and colleges? How to do it? The full text is divided into four parts altogether:part one is the theoretical research, we analyzed the connotation, elements, levels and principle of promoting Marxism popularization in universities and colleges in this part; part two is function research, we analyzed the importance and necessity of promoting Marxism popularization in universities and colleges in this part; the third part is present situation research, we used SWOT theory to analyze the internal advantage, the internal disadvantage, the external opportunities, the external challenges of promoting Marxism popularization in universities and colleges in this part; part four is countermeasures study, combined with the actual condition, we discussed the specific countermeasures of promoting Marxism popularization in universities and colleges, such as improving the teaching of ideological and political theory course, developing popular platform, innovating popular practice, perfecting popular mechanism and so on.
