Classroom Discipline at schools is considered as a key issue, which hasa great influence on students’ learning activities and teachers’ teaching activities, aswell as plays an important role in developing the good habit of students’ behaviors andthe sense of responsibility. However, we still adopt management means to control andrestrain students’ behaviors mainly at our schools. How to establish a discipline modelwhich can promote students’ study and development is the pursuit of my study. Basedon the overall research of the discipline models from home and the USA, I introducedthe Cooperative Discipline designed by American educator, Linda Albert, then made adetailed analysis on the discipline model in order to help solve our discipline problems. The first chapter is mainly about introduction of the paper, the significance andmethod of the study. It also includes four core definitions: classroom discipline, theCooperative Discipline and misbehavior, and the summary on the previous studiesabout classroom discipline. The second, third and fourth chapters mainly explain the Cooperative Discipline. The third chapter starts from the brief induction of the designer, Linda Albert. Then toreview the forming and evolving process of the model based on the background ofAmerican education at the same time and the studies on classroom discipline as well asthe ideological foundation. The fourth chapter introduces the Cooperative Discipline. Itexplains the model about theories, principles and strategies. The fifth chapter is aboutthe practical application of the model, mainly in the USA.The fifth chapter discuss about the advantages and disadvantage of the model. The sixth chapter. Based on the analysis of the characteristics of the model, I putforward my thought: the model have several characteristics: a consensus to helpmaintain the order in the classroom, communication to help learn good behaviors, participation to help improve the ability of self-discipline, and the sense of belonging to help develop the sense of responsibility. These characteristics make the classroombecome a learning community, which is the essential reason that the model can use away of cooperation to decrease these means of traditional management strategiessuccessfully, to achieve the educational functions of classroom discipline as well as tohelp students study and develop well. The seventh chapter is based on the previous one, and discuss about how to betterclassroom discipline in our high schools. The eighth chapter is conclusion. This paper hopes to make more scholars, educators, teachers and parents at home pay attention to Cooperative Disciplinethrough the introduction, explanation and analysis, and help promote the further studyon classroom discipline and better practical work at schools.
