Educational sociology is oneof the important and fresh perspective to study Chinese language andliterature teaching. In this passage, I will choose gender as the startingand basic point for the whole research of education.Gender equality is an important issue in education. Although it hashas been widely recognized as a democratic and advanced idea, Therestill exists doubts and misunderstandings towards this concept as a resultof tradition. Chinese language and literature teaching process also existsexplicit or implicit gender inequality which can be found in teachingmaterials, text interpretation paradigm, teachers’ behaviors and learningenvironment. Language and literature teaching acts as a media for thegender equality that is an important part for the promotion of democracyand liberation of humans.The paper is divided into five parts. The first part provides sociology,pedagogy and curriculum theory supporting for the whole passage. Thesecond part mainly analysis the external cause of Chinese teaching ofgender equality from the sociological point of view, which concludeseconomic, social, educational and cultural gender inequality in society.The third part focuses on the analysis of the internal reason of gender equality education which mainly discusses the hidden inequalityphenomenon in language and literature teaching on various of aspects.The fourth part points out the possibilities to promote gender equality ineducation in terms of the nature and status of Chinese.
