| As a new educational model of higher education, independent college is an important product of the reform from elite education to mass education. It is a significant supplement to higher education in our country, and has already become an important part of it. It is a bold attempt in the reform of higher education and its meaning is tremendous. From1999, the year when the first independent college established, to today, independent colleges developed rapidly, and the scale has been expanding greatly. Meanwhile, because of the short development time, some problems that hinder the development of independent colleges arise. The building of independent colleges aroused public attention.The building of the college counselor team is a focus in the construction of an independent college, but it is also full of difficulties along the way. Counselors are responsible for independent college ideological and political education. They are the backbone and maintainer of the normal order of teaching and learning. Their responsibilities include the students’ideological and political education, counseling, career planning, career guidance and other work. Thus, the counselors are required to have a high level of political theory and knowledge as well as certain research capacity. Their work is more than simple daily routine. They serve more to nurture students to become socialist builders and successors.To build a counselor team with strong ideological quality, operational capacity and a high degree of specialization needs a variety of resources and the limited resources of independent colleges form the principal contradiction in the counselor team building. How to deal with this contradiction and how to eventually solve it are things that must be considered in counselor team building. Treating this problem properly is the basis to solve other problems like counselor mobility, low professional level, the irrational structure, unobvious effect. In this paper, the current situation of the counselor team building in seven independent colleges is described, and it gives an in-depth analysis of the problems. Based on these causes of the problems, this paper brings forward tips as follows:by improving the social status of counselors and benefits to attract talented people; by solving problems concerning professional titles to retain talented people; through a variety of training, study tours to improve the degree of team specialization; Through material incentives, spiritual rewards motivate talented people. In that way, we gradually build a counselor team with strong ideological quality, operational capacity and high degree of specialization as well as to ensure that we bring together the rational allocation, allowing counselors of different ages. In that case, the team will operate well. |
