School assignment is both a way that teachers understand what students are learning, and a way that training students’ thinking and students’ ability. Furthermore, school assignment takes an important part in the math teaching, also makes a extension for math teaching. However, Peoples have a incorrect opinion that the function of the school assignment is just to "consolidate knowledge" and " strengthen skills" traditionally. So, it leads school assignment to a fixed, less diversified and unopen pattern. On the other hand, considering the exam-oriented education, some teachers assign school assignment over the ability of students generally, so that most of the students struggle to finish it negatively and then school assignment turns out to be a heavy workload or turns out to be done for "done" for them all. It’s also confined students’ thinking and potential development. For that, many students take a heavy ideological burden, contrary to the demand of today’s education policy. The new curriculum reform that tansfer the old curriculum and the traditional teaching pattern, is implemented urgenly, in order to fit social progress and educational development. Since curriculum reform has been fully implemented, it’s a challenge that teachers correctly understand the purpose of job and set job optimally leads students’more enthusiasm into completing math homework and enhance self-confidence of learning math.In this paper, we find some problem, such as overload work, unstepped design, wide content, from the questionnaire and the interview which achieved by high school students and high school teacher, about high school math assignment design. To solve these problems, combined the basic ideas of new curriculum theory with modern education theory, the author has carried on the comprehensive study, and thus put forward a new view about the function and design, layered set of math assignment, job types of innovation and breakthrough. Advocate that teachers combines with the actual conditions of high school students, under the new view of math homework, set researched, exploratory and open questions for different students, make different students has a different degree of development than before. At the same time, the diversity of correcting form and evaluation relieve teachers’load and increase the effectiveness of the evaluation.Furthermore, make the students play to their full potential, bring "be asked for" into "ask for",in this new assignment activities.
