| Happiness is an old topic and a goal that human beings pursue for a long time. Teachers have long been considered as a very sacred profession, because they shoulder the responsibility of transferring knowledge. Students often take the teacher as an example to follow. Teachers’behavior has a great influence on students’ physical and mental development. The ultimate purpose of education is to let people have a happy life, and to realize their all-round development. Happiness has the characteristic of continuity. The way that teachers understand and experience the happiness tends to have a direct and important impact on students’ understanding and perception of happiness. That education is the foundation of national rejuvenation and social progress is emphasized in the report of the eighteenth conference of the Chinese Communist Party. In the process of the construction of culture-powerful state of socialism China focuses on the idea "paying attention to the humanistic care and psychological counseling, fostering positive social mentality of self-esteem, self-confidence, rational calm "to meet people’s satisfaction. Subjective well-being has gradually become a hot topic for researchers. In view of university teachers’ important position in China, the research has a special theoretical significance and practical value, which can enrich the domestic research on university teachers’ subjective well-being, help our country, the education sector and schools grasp the characteristics of university teachers’ well-being and situation better, help to improve the teachers’ physical and mental health level and work enthusiasm, thus improving the teaching quality and research level of schools and promoting the development of educational business.The paper consists of four parts. The first part, introduction, discourses the theory of happiness and subjective well-being, reviews the previous research results and lays the foundation for the following research. The second part, also the main body of the research, is about the investigation and study. The paper takes teachers of five colleges and universities in Henan Province as investigation object, using SPSS statistical software to make descriptive statistics and difference analysis on survey data, and ultimately finding that in Henan colleges and universities teachers’ subjective well-being overall condition is good, and they have different characteristics in different gender, professional, age, job title, position, etc. Combined with domestic and foreign research achievements, the third part, analysis, explores ther reason to the problems that the research results reveal; The fourth part puts forward some suggestions about the promotion of teachers’ subjective well-being from two aspects. |
