Various methods have been used in the research. Fist of all isto look at the past information and material that involves reading database and relevantjournal articles, and then have theoretical data for the study. Another way is to conduct asurvey which lists all the questions regarding the current state of Qigong in SI ChuanProvince, and hand it out to different participants, ranging from college professors toprofessionals then collect all those information from these respondents.Last but not leastis to conduct a logical and mathematical analysis in relation to the topic. The study shows the majority students and lecturers in universities are quitesatisfied with the current development of Qigong.92.9%of universities regard Qigongas an elective course, where the relevant knowledge is taught to students.Amongdifferent sub-disciplines of Qigong,57.8%chose YI Jing,40%chose Ba Duan Jing, and44.4%chose WU Qing XI.However, other sub-group has rarely been touched.42%oforigins of Qigong teaching are from individuals withunconventional PE major;71%oflecturers have not undertaken any Qigong-related research recently,57%of teachershave never published any articles that are remotely related to Qigong;29%of those havenot taken any re-training about Qigong ever since the employment. The contents oflecture cover a variety of knowledge and could meet the learning demand that comesfrom students.69%of students believe they would keep practicing Qigong after theclass. To sum up,there is a deficit in class setting and shortage of qualified lecturers. The teachers’ ability of doing research and teaching need to be improved. Above all, there is no efficient evaluation system. Suggestions to those weaknesses are to increasevarieties of classes and more importantly, attract more qualified teachers and ensure thequantity and quality of teaching staff without any compromises. Other than that, encouraging teachers to join any re-training sessions so that the professional skill wouldbe improved. Finally, setting up an efficient evaluation system and developing a betterway to promote in the region.
