In the new standard of biology classes, it advocates to promote the way what the students learn, and gradually to cultivate students’ ability of collecting and processing new information science, to acquire new knowledge ability, the ability of critical thinking, analysis and solve problem skills, as well as communication and cooperation ability, training innovation spirit and practical ability. Therefore, raising student’s innovative spirit is particularly important. As the important component of the innovation spirit, innovative thinking takes the primacy in the cultivation of innovative thinking. In order to improve students’ innovative thinking ability, enough thinking and imagination space is needed. There are many teaching methods to develop students’ creative thinking; model teaching is one of them. There are a lot of models in High school biology course, not only is the condition of students to gain knowledge, but also is an important part of the students’ cognitive structure. Modeling itself is a process of innovation; the model teaching not only enables students to build basic biological knowledge, to develop students’ innovative thinking, but also plays an important role in student’s scientific literacy. In this paper," Genetics and Evolution " is taken as research materials, to explore the feasibility to cultivate high school students’creative thinking by model teaching. The theoretical basis of innovative thinking and model teaching is elaborated, including creative thinking elements, the connotation and classification of the model, modeling method, model teaching culture of innovative thinking. Analyzing "Genetics and Evolution", modeling knowledge is counted, to model the physical model, conceptual model and mathematical model. To build a physical model,"The structure of the DNA molecule "is taken as an example, the students’ imagination and abstract thinking, divergent thinking and convergent thinking have been trained; to build a conceptual model," the cross-breeding and mutation breeding" is taken as an example, students’ divergent thinking and convergent thinking, lateral thinking and vertical thinking have been trained; to build mathematical models,"Mendel’s pea hybridization experiments (b)", is taken as an example, the student’s forward thinking and reverse thinking, seeking common thinking and divergent thinking have been trained, by which the formation of innovative thinking is promoted. Finally,"meiosis" is taken as an example, to apply the three models integratedly, which not only has achieved simplification of the content, but also has trained the students’ innovative ability and problem-solving skills.Through research, the conclusions as following:1) Mol teaching is feasible in high school biology teaching;2) The process of building the model is conducive to the cultivation of students’ innovative thinking3) Modeling activities is helpful to develop students’ problems solving abilities. As the author’s practical experience is limited, an in-depth inquiry on how to better the creation of conditions for the formation of students’ innovative thinking by model teaching has not yet been carried out; model teaching is not all-powerful in the teaching process, with other teaching methods, teachers may achieve the optimization of the teaching effectiveness.
