| The genetic engineering, which was birth in the1970s, has become one of the mostdynamic foremost fields of life science. It has a wide range of applications in agriculture,industry, energy, medicine and environmental protection, etc. Therefore, the related content ofgenetic engineering is selected into the PEP high school biology elective3. The geneticengineering is very abstract and complex, especially its operating procedures and principles.So, that high school starts the education of genetic engineering has a little difficulty. Bymeans of questionnaire and interview survey of biology teachers and students in high school,the article finds out and summarizes the problems in course and teaching, which exist in theteaching of biology teachers in the first topic ‘Genetic engineering’ of <The modernbiological science and technology project>. According to the research results and relateddocument literature, the author proposes some feasibility suggestions or countermeasures. Itaims at how to improve the teaching effect of “Genetic engineeringâ€.Via the survey of biology teachers and students, it has many problems in the curriculumimplementation of “Genetic engineeringâ€, such as a lack of teachers’ knowledge, simpleteaching methods, few lessons and a lack of hardware facilities in schools. In view of theabove questions, the article mainly proposes some feasibility countermeasures or suggestionsin four aspects, including teachers, schools, students and teaching materials.
