Up to2012, a series of in-service teacher-education policies has been issued by Ministry of Education.The educators’ attention to the teacher training is rising year by year. But research on the in-service teacher education curriculum setting is still relatively small, and studying on the in-service chemistry teacher education curriculum setting is scarce more than it.So, this study to clarify the connotation of these concepts:"in-service teacher education""in-service teacher education curriculum""in-service teacher education curriculum on the junior middle school chemistry teacher""curriculum setting"etc. Through analyzing the related literature at home and abroad, this study will be focus on finding effective strategies to set curriculum about in-service junior middle school chemistry teacher education.Based on this, this paper’s main research content is divided into three parts. Part one (chapter2):Combing on the theoretical basis of in-service chemistry teacher education curriculum setting. Part two (chapter3~chapter5):Launched a series of empirical research about designing the in-service junior middle school chemistry teacher education curriculum. That is the situation research on professional development of in-service junior middle school chemistry teachers; the training needs survey about training contents on chemistry teachers; the evaluation research on the training curriculum implementation status etc. All of this is aimed to provide abundant and detailed realistic basis to looking for the curriculum setting strategies. Part three (chapter6):Put forward effective strategies for setting training courses on the junior middle school chemistry teachers, and attached to the case. The above conclusions are based on the results of the empirical studies, and have been combined with the present situation on junior middle school chemistry teacher training in the study area.The result shows that, we can adopt the following strategies when setting out the junior middle school chemistry teacher training curriculum:(1) Training Needs Analysis should be subjective and objective unification.(2) Strengthen the consciousness of teachers’ self professional development.(3) Attach importance to the confusion in teaching practice, training expectations and demand difference between the different teaching experiences.(4)Set training curriculum hierarchically according to seniority.(5) The selection of course content should be careful according to different needs, try to be fewer but better.(6) Strengthen the relevance between training content and teaching practice.(7)According to different stages of teachers, teaching content should be adjusted with the same course appropriately.(8) Increase some courses of class time appropriately according to the need.(9) Provide successful teaching practice case as far as possible.(10) Attach importance to the advantages of teachers with different development stages and different categories.(11) Provide and maintain the communication platform for teachers’ professional development, and carry out the effectiveness of communication during the training period.(12) Enhanced communication between the curriculum staff and expert team.It’s a system project that setting curriculum based on the specific objectives and tasks of the teacher training programs and training object needs. How to convert it into feasible practice? This study may be made a preliminary exploration. We hope it can work for secondary school teachers training, especially for setting and implementation of training course on junior middle school chemistry teacher.
