After Sino-Japanese war of1894-1895, the ideological trend “overall to the west”gradually got popular, and Chinese traditional culture gradually waned. Till the May4thmovement period, studies of Chinese ancient civilization and western culture were found inbattle ground. In the sustained fight between Chinese and western culture, Chinese traditionalculture in the disadvantages obviously. But the chronic debate among the cultures publicizedthe studies of Chinese ancient civilization again, and brought a large number of Chinesecivilization education and researching institutes during dozens of year’s “Chinese civilizationhot”. In the history of Chinese civilization there was one called The College of ChineseCulture which enjoyed equal popularity with “Tsinghua Chinese civilization researchinginstitute” among these brilliant Chinese culture organizations. It was started in the year-end of1920, even have been earlier almost2years than “Beijing Chinese civilization institute” andhave been earlier about5years than “Tsinghua Chinese civilization institute”. Some scholarsnamed it as “traditional academy’s modern progress” and “a successful coalition of Chinesetraditional academy and western modern college educational system”. The modern system ofour country in university is basically transplanted from the west As long as the activities afterhundred years of practice, we still not get well deal with all our traditional culture issues. Thefractured traditional culture leaded the lack of modern universities’ spirits directly. However,The College of Chinese Culture has successful experiences in spreading Chinese traditionalculture and fusing western higher education system. It’s worth researching and considering byacademic circles and educational world.From The College of Chinese Culture founded to incorporated into Wuxi Sunan collegeof Culture and Education, Tang Wenzhi has served as president of The College of ChineseCulture.Tang Wenzhi earlier life experiences to promote its conversion completed by thefeudal bureaucracy to the role of educator, the impact of his educational philosophy to TheCollege of Chinese Culture is undoubtedly huge, mainly manifested in the creation ofpurpose, the system conception, the principle of educating people and other aspects. TheCollege of Chinese Culture though only three years of existence, but then Wuxi culturaldevelopment had a subtle influence, and train a large number of both mastery of traditionalculture and good use of the modern Western way of thinking, research methods to scholarshipSinology talent. To explore The College of Chinese Culture practiced this distinctivecombination of Chinese and Western Higher Education Model-teaching in Chinese culture asthe foundation and teaching content of education, and use of western education system andmethod.And scientific understanding, and summed up The College of Chinese Cultureexperience in education successes, The possibility of the fusion of Chinese and Westerneducation from The College of Chinese Culture refining the possibility of general highereducation of Chinese and western fusion, Will The College of Chinese Culture of highereducation mode combine with today’s society culture and spirit development needs, summedup the possible integration of Chinese and Western Higher Education requires certainideological and economic base, and in order to make effective integration of Chinese andWestern education, it is necessary to give due protection on school policies, such as adequatefunding for education, independent school autonomy and the system of administrativeteaching phase separation. With reference to the The College of Chinese Culture educationalpurpose, curriculum program, educational methods, management system, school culture constructionthe and other aspects of successful experience, Construction of contemporaryeducational philosophy that combining chinese and western systems of higher education,exploring the excellent tradition of Chinese culture spread road, provide a reference for thedevelopment of Chinese contemporary higher education.
