Culture is the soul of a nation. As a part of the Chinese excellent traditionalculture, Minnan culture is a kind of potential local resource. Because of thehistorical reason of migration and the geographical environment with bothmountain and sea included, Minnan culture has the national characteristics ofCentral Plains culture and the regional characteristics of local culture at thesame time. Minnan culture contains abundant moral educational resources,which have been continually inherited in the thousands of years of history andstill have strong vitality and great value of education. Besides, rooted in thesouthern Fujian, Minnan culture owns obvious local characteristics, providingrich educational resources to the moral education in local colleges. Therefore,to make full use of the historical and cultural connotation of Minnan culture,and to bring it into the moral education in local colleges for rich and colorfulpractical activities, can let the students know and love Minnan culture in thepractice, expose the students in the influence of Minnan culture and improvetheir comprehensive quality and moral quality.Choosing Minnan culture as an angle, this paper discusses that to make fulluse of the excellent educational resources of the connotation of Minnanculture, and to apply it to the moral education in local colleges can getsatisfying results, thus changing the shortages existing in the moral educationin local colleges, such as the insufficient educational content, the monotonouseducational form and the poor educational effect. In this paper, the study onthe application of Minnan culture on the moral education in local collegesgoes from the following levels: first of all, elaborate the connotation ofMinnan culture from substance culture, spiritual culture and system culture,and elaborate the characteristics of Minnan culture from marine culture,immigration culture, and Central Plains culture. Secondly, describe thesignificance of applying Minnan culture to the moral education in local colleges: enriching the content of moral education, strengthening the effect ofmoral education and optimizing the environment of moral education. Andanalyze the present situation of Minnan culture applied on the moral educationin local colleges: integrating into the content of moral education in localcolleges, using as the carriers of moral education in local colleges, andcreating the perfect atmosphere of moral education in local colleges. Again,find out the problems of the application of Minnan culture on the moraleducation in local colleges:a lack of professional teachers of moral education,a lack of a strong atmosphere of Minnan culture, and an old mode of educationdevelopment. What’s more, to analyze the causes of these problems:exploiting and using the resources of Minnan culture falls behind, theimportance of Minnan culture applied on the moral education is not fullyrealized, and the outer condition of the application of Minnan culture is notperfect enough. Finally, discuss the strategies of the application of Minnanculture on moral education in local colleges from optimizing the externalenvironment, strengthening team building, and expanding application carriers.
