With the continuous development of the modern education technology,modern educationtechnology tools and means are impacting the traditional teaching and learning. Besides, ourcountry advocates the quality education, which requires the focus of education needs totransform from teaching to learning in recent years. As a result, how to apply moderneducation technology and methods to specific subject areas, could better help daily teachingand learning activities, to cultivate students’ autonomous learning ability and improvestudents’ learning interest and efficiency, which is worth to thinking for us.In this paper, according to the big background of the times and social demand, underthe guidance of the constructivism learning theory, memory processing level theory and thetheory of knowledge visualization, combine the mind map-a visual knowledgerepresentation tool with English learning of junior middle school, through design the Englishlearning activities conforms to the junior middle school students’ cognitive habits, mind mapswill be used in class teaching, and make full use of network capabilities, to achieve resourcesharing and communication of the extracurricular study, hoping to change words learningmethods of the students, changing the dull classroom learning mode, improving the efficiencyof the English words learning of junior middle school students.This paper mainly discusses the following five parts: the first part explains thebackground and the basis of the subject, the research status at home and abroad, the researchpurpose and meaning, and the research content and research methods. The second partclarifies the correlation analysis of the English vocabulary learning activities of the juniorhigh school students, including the basic theory of mind map, the analysis of the currentsituation of junior middle school English vocabulary learning and the introduce of theapplication of mind map in English learning activities of junior middle school. The third partbased on theoretical study, sums up a set of concrete junior middle school English wordslearning activity design based on the mind map, puts forwards the preliminary analysis,theprinciple for the design, and process of the design. The fourth part is three cases about the junior middle school English words learning activity design based on mind maps, andimplementation effects of the analysis’ results. The last part is the conclusion of this study andfuture research topics.
