With the development of the teacher specialization, people pay more attention to teachers’professional identity. As a prospective biology teacher, because of hearing many biology teachers’ complaints and frustrations, so feel hesitated to biology teachers’ career. Thus this paper started the investigation about junior school biology teachers’ professional identity in Gansu province, to understand the present situation and influence factors of biology teachers’ professional identity, and to put forward corresponding measures, Expect to enrich theory on teachers’ professional identity, and to provide some useful reference for the biology teachers’ training, development of teachers’morality and professional.In order to understand the present situation of biology teachers’ professional identity in junior school of Gansu province, we investigated192biology teachers from professional cognition, professional emotion, and professional behavior three dimensions. Through the mean value comparison and significant difference analysis of biology teachers’ professional identity based on different gender,age,teaching seniority, educational qualification, professional titles, monthly income, school location, administrative positions, classes number, teacher training, find the factors of affecting biology teachers’ professional identity. In order to complement the questionnaire, we interviewed4representative biology teachers. The results show that:(1)The whole level of biology teachers’ professional identity in junior school of Gansu province is relatively higher.(2) In junior school of Gansu province biology teachers’professional identity is influenced by external factor such as school’s focus on biology, school location, teacher training, monthly income, biological laboratory equipment.(3) Gansu province biology teachers’professional identity is influenced by personal factor such as gender, age, teaching seniority, professional title, administrative positions.According to the investigation above, this study make the strategy from two aspects about strengthening biology teachers’ professional identity. Particularly, the support of external conditions:(1)Importance to the value of biological disciplines, achieving the improvement of biology teacher’s social status.(2)Enhancing the screening of pre-service biology teachers, pay attention to employment training for biology teachers.(3)Improve the salary and ease the task of teaching, arouse the enthusiasm of biology teachers.(4)Create a complete biological laboratory equipment, meet the needs of biology teachers working.(5)Narrowing the gap between environment and education facilities in the cities, counties, towns and rural schools. In terms of improvement of teacher-self:(1)Mutual complement of men and women teachers, teacher "went on" action.(2)Make teaching self-examination, enhance their teaching abilities.(3)Seek their own professional development, strive for the self-value realization.
