This thesis adapts the methods of documentary analysis, using relevant knowledgesuch as folklore, cultural anthropology and notational pedagogy, on the basis of Yao’sElementary education and the current research result of Yao’s literature in U.S. Libraryof Congress, it makes primary arrangement and research on Yao’s Elementary readingin U.S. library of Congress.This thesis is divided into four parts:Part Ⅰ(introduction) mainly introduces the cause on selecting title; brieflyintroduces the situation of relevant research on this topic;the method of this topic and itsinnovation.Part Ⅱ(the first chapter) it concludes and summarizes the spreading condition onthe Yao’s elementary education and elementary reading books. Yao’s elementaryeducation’s basic forms are: school education, family education, social education andreligious education. It introduces the spreading condition of Yao’s elementary readingbooks at abroad and home. In domestic, it mainly focuses on collecting the folktraditional handwritings, and they are incorporated in Yao’s ancient literature materials;at abroad, Yao’s folk traditional handwritings were edited together as theChinese-learning books, part of them were collected by abroad libraries andcollectors.Part Ⅲ(chapter two and three) is the body of this thesis. First of all, it discusses theresources and types of Yao’s elementary reading books in U.S. library of Congress,dividing the Yao’s elementary reading books into learning-words type, knowledge typeand moral integrity type, introducing the basic states of every elementary reading booksin details. On this basis, it takes on simple explanation on the elementary reading books.Secondly, it adapts the relevant theories of cultural anthropology, analyses therelationship between the Yao’s elementary reading books in U.S. library of Congressand Chinese culture. Part Ⅳ(the forth chapter) discusses the feature and value of Yao’s elementaryreading books collected in library. Briefly summarizes the feature of Yao’s elementaryreading books in library and discusses the value of Yao’s elementary reading books onpedagogy, folklore and philology.
