Quality is the lifeline of higher education, with the accelerating process ofrecruitment of higher education, more and more people pay close attention to the qualityof higher education. How to effectively evaluate the quality of higher education andhow to effectively promote higher education reform becomes the people’s concern.National college and university, as a tool to solve China’s domestic problems and topromote the development of minority areas and to cultivate senior talents for minorities,its’ education quality have an important role to our country and social development. But,three times of China Discipline Ranking conducted by China Academic Degree&Educational Development Center shows the levels of the national colleges anduniversities’ discipline are not very good. Studying national colleges and universities’education quality, is helpful to improve the quality of national colleges and universitiesand to promote the development of minority areas.Therefore, in this paper, we use NSSE2013to investigate M university’seducational problem, found the following conclusions:(a) M’s benchmark of studentengagement From high to low is: supportive campus environment, enriching educationexperience, lever of academic challenge, active and collaborative learning,student-faculty interaction;(b) under lever of academic challenge benchmark, thescores of “writing tasks” are low; under active and collaborative learning benchmark,the scores of “give a course presentation” and “asked questions or contributed to coursediscussion in other ways” are low; under student-faculty interaction benchmark, thescores of all questions are not good; under supportive campus environment benchmark,the scores of “the relationship of academic advisors” is low; under enriching educationexperience benchmark, the scores of “doing community service or volunteer work” and“participate in a study aboard program” are low.(c) Boys’ active and collaborativelearning level is lower than girls’;Han nationality students’ level of academic challengeis lower than minority students’. According to the above conclusions, this study present that we need to change inmany ways. order to improve the national colleges and universities’ education quality.
