Barack Obama took the presidency of America again in the White House,starting his new term on January20,2013U.S.Time. President Obama has beenreforming education since he became the president and the K-12education is one ofmost important areas being reformed. This article chooses the K-12education policyof the US federal government as the research object, discussing the background,content, inheritance and improvement of the policy,ect. The thesis has four parts:The first part analyses the background of the Obama Administration’s K-12policy, including The international and domestic background. Firstly, discuss theinfluence of globalization to the policy; Secondly, discuss the influence of the USeconomic crisis and problems in the K-12education to the policy.The second part states the main content of the policy, which refers to two aspects:investment in the K-12education and the reform of NCLB act.The third part is mainly about the inheritance of the Obama Administration’sK-12policy from the George W. Bush Administration’s and improvement the ObamaAdministration’s K-12policy to the George W. BushAdministration’s.The fourth part analyses the factors which affect the Obama Administration’sK-12policy. It mainly concerns three aspects: the federal role in education, theinternal party politics and President Obama’s personal experience.According to the analysis of the background, the content, the inheritance andimprovement and the affecting factors, The thesis forecasts the K-12education policyin President Obama’s new term.
