The malnutrition of westen area of China has existed in history. Until the national nutritionimprovement plan take place, the people become take attention to it. Ledu county of Qinghai province isa poverty county, the malnutrition problem is very serious in this area. This thesis through the researchof the rural primary school students of Ledu to clear up the fellowing question. For one thing, how is theemergy process of national nutrition improvement plan? For another, how is the current situation of theplan in Ledu? The last, the existing nutrition improvement plan policy whether if satisfied with studentsdemand.The quantitative research and qualitative research has been used in this thesis. The collection ofdata adopt to questionaire, anthropometric measuring, structured interview, observation method andinformation retrieval. And the analysis of data adopt to the z score method, regression analysis policyanalysis and qualitative data analysis method. In the basis of thoese, this thesis has obtain the followingconclusion.Firstly, the national nutrition improvement plan of compalsory education in rural areas was bornedunder many factors. Form a history perspective, the government was always pay attention to themalnutrition problem of the westen deprssed area of china. But there are not actual messures to improvethis area students’ nutrition due to the limit of economic development and profit distribution. Form arealistic perspective,on the one hand, there are many accommodation schools were emerged with thecombing school policy. And the malnutrition problem is more and more sharper. On the other hand,there is a postive effection with the intervene of non-government organization in nutrition improvementof western poverty areas. And the people think that the government should be take the responsibility forimproving students’nutrition.Secondly, the malnutrition problem of rural studennts is very serious in ledu county, but it isimproving after the nutritional intervention plan. Kedu’s malnutrition problem is worse than nationalaverage. Which is got through growth retardation rate, low-body weight rate, marasmus rate andhemoglobin value. But, compared with tow yesrs ago, there is an obvious improvement for the nutritionof primary school students. It is proved that nutrition improvement plan has played positive effect.Thirdly, whether boarding is an important factors for students’ nutrition status. Non-residentstudents’ nutrition is better than accomdation students. But the gap between the two is narrowing now.On the one hand, the nutrition improvement plan has enhanced students’ nutrition. On the other hand,because different content of the meal, there exist different result between bording students andnon-resident students. Whats more, through regression analysis,age and number of brother or sister arealso influence factors for students’nutrition.Fouthly, the nutrition improvement policies is an important safeguard to improve student’nutrition.But, there are many insufficant on current policies. The nutrition improvement policies could guaranteethe nutrition improvement plan put into effect. And it also guarantee the plan could benefit to povertystudents. Becauce the different actual situation and policy executive strength, there are many placeneed to futher mend.
