Preschool teachers’ body language is an important non-verbal part of the interaction betweenthe teacher and children.The study tries to find the fact that body language in the process ofinteraction between teacher and children by observation method, reveal the reality of teachers’body language, research teachers’ body language behavior patterns; Gather further informationabout teachers’ concept through interview and analyze the reason of teachers’ body language inspecific situation.The following are the conclusions of this study.By explicit characteristics, standing behavior has taken a key position in the progress ofinteraction,while crouching to talk with the children takes few percentage. Different bodylanguage occurs in different scenarios. Crouching behavior appears in non-educational scenes,bending down behavior appears more in the activities that need teacher pay attention to children.Sitting and standing behavior always appears in the controllability educational scenes.No matter which body language is used, teachers always hold the initiative. There will bemore emotional and educational behaviors when teachers crouching to talk with the children.Standing and bending down behaviors appears more in management events, affective interactiverarely in this case. Sitting more appears in educational behavior.When teachers choose crouch or bent down behavior to interact with children, they accepteach other’s request easily. When teachers choose stand or sit behavior to interact with children,children’s level of acceptance is lowest. When teachers choose crouching to interact with children,the two sides appear highest positive emotions. While teachers choose sitting to interact withchildren, the two sides appear more negative emotions. When teachers choose bend to interactwith children, their emotional experience are tend to be neutral.From the patterns of behavior, we can see that crouch, bend, sit, stand have different situationalcharacteristics, showing different concept of the teacher. Squatting to talk with children shows atwo-way interaction. Sitting reflects the strong controllability, bend down interactive events with astrong transactional and the sitting interactive events reflect the planning and organization ofteachers. From the understanding of teacher, the perceptual knowledge of teacher on “Squatted down totalk with children’, their understanding on different body languages, responsibilities cognitive andimage positioning, all these influence their behaviors from the conception aspect. The workexperience, workload and the concept of management will affect teacher’s behavior.Through discussion and analysis of the results, the author put forward the correspondingsuggestions from two aspects: By experience this behaviour, to think about the meaning ofsquatted; By changing the teacher’s concept to promote the interaction of the teacher andchildren.
