Being an integral part of higher education, discipline education is the guarantee of teaching and management. It is a necessity of cultivating college students’refined behavior habits to grow into excellence. Discipline education has been paid high attention. But with the social development of the new era, a great many new turns and challenges have been roused, which impose fierce influences on this guarantee of higher education. The following factors, to some extent, have challenge the education of college students’discipline education and refined behavior habits:the popularization of higher education, the promotion of quality education, the cultivation of innovative talents, enhancement of college students’ self-consciousness, the prosperity of social economy, the increasing of the only-child college students. Especially within recent years, college students have shown increasingly broken-discipline activities in both social and academic life, which negatively damage the images of university and college students by whom the society questioned severely.As the old saying goes,"No can be accomplished without norms or standards". Discipline education is closely related to a person’s refined behavior habit. The cultivation of college students’refined behavior habits is the embodiment of discipline education, the effects of which is restricted to the values, contents and means of education. An effective discipline education means a reasonable education value, scientific education contents and appropriate education means. Hence, the key factors of cultivating refined behavior habits in the process of strengthening discipline are the changes of old discipline education values, formulation of scientific teaching contents and adaptation of appropriate teaching methods. At this new era, some old-fashioned values, inappropriate teaching contents and methods in education have undermined the effects of discipline education a lot, which would do harm to the cultivation of students’refined behavior habits.To address the problems and issues that mentioned above, this paper raises four possible solutions. First, the teaching method which stresses educators’ dominance but ignores students’subjectivity should be changed. A new teaching value is student-oriented and getting students fully developed. It could combine the teacher’s dominance and the students’subjectivity effectively, which enables education to be developed following the trends of social development and meeting the needs of students. Second, education needs to confirm reality. Students’real conditions and social environment are taken into consideration. A perception of development is involved into the decision of discipline education contents. Disciplinary rules, thus, can be practiced on students while guiding them. Third, appropriate teaching methods are necessary. New era and social environment can serve as references in college students’education. Attaching importance to students’individual differences, teaching with accordance to their aptitude, combining discipline education and daily management together are useful solutions. In order to form linage effects between discipline education and family education, it’s helpful to beautify the campus environment, enrich campus culture, to excavate some helpful students’ family education discipline methods. In addition, the publicity of disciplines should be enhanced. Only could students understand and obey the rules after knowing the discipline itself. A scientific mechanism of rewards and punishments should be established, which would set good examples for students, encourage them to pursue noble deeds, punish those who violate the disciplines resolutely to warn the others. All these are to the benefit of ensuring the stability and normalization of discipline education. It contributes to the cultivation of refined behavior habits and good qualities while college students repeating the process of discipline observance.
