Cultural diversity is a universal feature of human society. In the process of modernization, how to protect the outstanding traditional culture of the nation is a very important research subject which academic and cultural fields pay much attention to. Education is an important way to achieving cultural heritage and school is the best and effective place for cultural transmission. In modern national education system, school education embodies the State will and passes modern cultural. However our education system pay less attention on minority education in particular the national arts education make the result that ethnic minorities living in mixed ethnics areas face the difficulties of cultural continuity. This problem become increasingly widespread and serious. Modern national education system is not completely closed to encroach. Yunnan, Guizhou and many ethnic areas have tried some efforts on education for minorities and already get some effects.This article is written about the Mongolia and the Han mixed areas in Inner Mongolia and focus on the arts education and cultural inheritance of matouqin which is the representation of Mongolian musical instrument. In recent years, with rapid development on social and economic in ethnic areas and the increasing efforts of Mongolian elite, free art education of matouqin has arisen in primary and secondary schools or kindergartens of ethnic regions such as Inner Mongolia and Xinjiang. This article choses the matouqin education in zhungeer Qi Minzu Junior High School as an example, make field research under the guidance of anthropology, Ethnology and education theories. This article gives some advices on how to promote minority cultural education and cultural continuity more effectively under modern national education system on the basis of describe its current situation and analyses the causes as well as significance.This article consists of six parts as follows:Part I is an introduction explained the background to this study and the significance of topic selection. This part also described the related theory as well as literature review and give a brief introduction of research design,methods and content.Part II describes the current situation of matouqin education in zhungeer Qi Minzu Junior High School including zhungeer Qi profiles, the present matouqin education, opinions of schools, parents, students, teachers, and other related subjects.Part III analyzes the cause of the zhungeer Qi Minzu Junior High School matouqin art education from three aspects Mongolian cultural elites, social economic and school. This paragraph analyzes the significance from students, matouqin arts and culture protection and inheritance. Part IV analyzes the problems exist in zhungeer Qi Minzu Junior High School matouqin art education from national policy, local governments and schools, and propose problem-oriented thinking on how to improve its development.Part V is the thought of inheritance of minority cultures under modern national education system. After analyze the causes from the State, local governments, schools, families, students I consider that we should do more efforts on implement multicultural integration of education, implement special national education policies and establishment curriculum system of the multi-in-one.Part VI is the conclusion part which outlined the main points and the structure of this paper, highlight the methods to face the problem on minority education and cultural inheritance.
