Under the influence of today’s multi-cutural social environment, China’s ethnic culture has been gradually highlighted home and abroad. This thesis attempts to analyze the cultural inheritance in today’s multi-cultural world based on the research of national music education. The author majored in Music Pedagogy of Musicology during undergraduate years, and now mainly focuses on the studies of Chinese traditional music in her graduate study. Based on the theoretical study of both undergraduate and graduate years and the contemplation of today’s multicultural society, the author finally decided on the topic of this thesis. During the research, the author applied the method of field investigation, and visited five schools in three cities of Ji Lin Province in person to compare and study their national music courses and the official music courses. During the research, the author also used surveys, interviews and classroom experience as studying methods to record and collate the materials about the current situation of the national musical education. Then the author compares and analyses these materials from the six aspects of teaching faculties and resources, students, textbooks, teaching approaches, curriculum and outings and communications, thus to find the problems within the national musical courses of Ji Lin Province and to provide solutions and suggestions for them.
