A Study On The Current Living Situation Of Hui Intellectual Women In Ningxia Colleges And Universities

In recent years, the research on women has become a hot spot in the academic field, especially in anthropology, and ethnology study. Domestic study on women’s status has developed from focusing on the equality between men and women to the realization of women’s self-worth.This thesis will do a research on the current living situation of Hui intellectual women in Ningxia colleges and universities as well as the problems arising during the process of their self development from the perspective of women learning theory, using the method of field survey of ethnology, and making Ningxia University and The Northern Universities for Nationalities as the field points. Through the investigation and the study, the formation of their social value and the positioning of their social role are reflected in their growing up experiences; their improvement of economic and social status is found in the process of their career choice and career struggling.; the awakening of their self consciousness, the family role they are trying hard to play, the construction of the diversity of family culture, and the constant improvement of their family status as well as balancing the double relationship between family and work make them achieve happiness in life. The thesis still reveals their adaption to culture in social interaction influenced by factors such as religion and modern education. Finally, it is concluded that the pressure of the dual role and contradictions as well as the social evaluation criterion are still factors hindering the development of the intellectual women of Hui nationality. Therefore, if the Hui intellectual women want comprehensive development, first, the society needs to create conditions to realize the equality of gender in the true sense, giving real recognition and respect to Hui intellectual women. In addition, intellectual women need to continue to strengthen their subjective consciousness, self awareness and the consciousness of development so as to better realize self-worth and social value.
