| The file labeled "The CPC Central Committee and the State Council on deepeningeducation reform and promoting quality education decision"([1999]9) pointed outthathealth is the basic premise of youth to the motherland and the embodiment of thevitality of the Chinese nation. Therefore, school education should establish theguiding ideology of health first. Health education is an important part of schooleducation and a vital means of implementing quality education to the students.Considering this fact, sports education is of great importance to improve students’ health,promote all-round development of students’ morality, intelligence, and to improve thelevel of students’ physical and mental health.In order to understand the current situation and problems of health educationof senior high schools in Huaihua, and for the purpose of providing a reference for thefurther improvement and strengthening of school health education, twelve senior highschools in Huaihua were investigated in this paper through literature material law,investigation method and questionnaire method on their health education status. Thesurvey shows that the cityadministration conscientiously implements the outline ofprimary and secondary school health requirements, and certain progress has been madein school health education. But there are still many problems and weak links,specifically manifested in:(1) health education has not been sufficiently valued, to copewith the higher authorities, health education alwaysbecomes a mere formality;(2) healtheducation is always found to have neglected the cultivation of students’ comprehensivepractical ability;(3) health teachers structure is not reasonable, the teaching force isweak, lagging construction of school health education curriculum;(4) health educationevaluation system is not perfect enough to guide and supervise the process of educationand teaching effects.Senior high schools in Huaihua should change their ideas and transformtheir attitudestowards the vigorous construction of health education curriculum and therole of health education in sports. And effective measures should be taken in respect ofteam construction,health education evaluation system, to truly improve the health levelof education in senior high schools in the city of Huaihua. |
