With the advance of society and the development of economy, the overall outlook ofchina has improved greatly. but there are still many problems, for example, the ruraldevelopment lags behind, and the gap between urban and rural is becoming larger day by day.In order to realize China’s modernization and to be wealthy and strong, we must solve the"three rural" issues, strengthen the construction of rural and achieve the modernization of thecountryside.1820s, Yan Yangchu is not only a well-known educator in China’s modern history, but alsoone of the main representatives of the Rural Reconstruction Movement. He is for the spirit of"provide education for all people without discrimination" and advocate "saving the nationthrough education”. He dedicate his life in the cause of civilian education and ruralconstruction. With bowed practice and active exploration, he has made great achievements in adifficult environment, and eventually renowned Chinese and foreign. He has been given thetitle of "the modern world’s most revolutionary contributions of the ten great" with Einstein,John Dewey and others by the international academic community.In his whole life, we willsee his glorious arduous struggle under the eternal light, his creative theory and revolutionarypractice for the construction of contemporary socialist harmonious society in China still havegreat historical significance and practical reference value.Yan Yangchu Civilian Education and formation comes mainly from three aspects, theChinese traditional Confucian thought of the people, the Christian philosophy of universalfraternity and humanitarian, and Yan Yangchu of a profound understanding of the "coolies".Throughout Yan Yangchu civilian education practice course, it can be summarized into fourstages, namely the first phase (1920-1926): the initial stage of the civilian education: literacyas the core content of the literacy campaign, the second phase (1926-1937): a typical practicalexamples of civilian education: Ding Xian experiments, the third phase (1937-1949): civilianseducation in the country’s development, maturation and impact, the fourth phase (1949-1990): the role of civilian education’s International Rural Reconstruction Movement. Finallyexpound the theory of civilian education, that is the "big four"(Literary education, healtheducation, livelihoods, education, civic education)、"three ways"(School-style education,family education, social education)、Ten creed of Rural Reconstruction Movement.Yan Yangchu is a great thinker, educator as well as a pure intellectuals, his great life isworthy of the times and the nation, his civilians education thoughts bear the features ofequality, creativity, practicality and scientific, but under the historical context of that time, hiscivilian education thought has his historical limitations that is the incompleteness of his theory, and the fantasy of his ideas and many others.Nowadays, china is in a high-speed transitional period, in the wave of new socialistcountryside construction,it is necessary to look closely at the theory and practice of YanYangchu’s civilian education thought again and use it for reference, we can do the following:first, in the aspect of educational philosophy, we should realize the localization of educationbuild great education idea, make clear that the education for farmer is the core issue of ruraleducation; secondly, in the content of education, we must make sure that the content ofeducation must have some connection with the production and life of farmers; thirdly in theeducation method, we should pay attention to the research method of field survey, and strengththe construction of educational environment, and continue to innovate.
