School education is one of the important factors affecting the formation of gender roles. Providing gender-sensitive educational materials to students and ensuring that students, especially female students, can accept non-sexist education is the basis to form a positive outlook on life values. Primary school language teaching material is an important material for students in school. Its richness in content, large time span and profound educational significance can not be matched by other materials. As an important part of the language teaching material, the gender information contained in the text and text illustrations should arouse our concern. Through the analysis of the text content and text illustrations in the experimental textbook, we can see the improvement as well as the deficiency in gender equality of Language Experiment Press S Editions. Its reflections in text and text illustrations are mainly as follows:1. There is a predominance of men over women which causes gender ratio imbalance. This imbalance is reflected in the illustrations as well as in the text.2. There is a gap between text and text illustrations. The sub-consciousness of the illustrations still contains stereotypes. There are stereotypes in illustrations, which are not included in the text, such as male wearing glasses, female teachers and mother wearing headscarves and aprons. Those undefined in the text appear defined in illustrations. And those of no importance are mainly women.3. There are stereotypes in profession and family roles. There is a predominance of men in the profession of police, doctor, writer, soldier and leader and a predominance of women among teacher and housewife. Men drink tea and read newspapers, while women take care of children, wash and cook.4. There are stereotypes in personality. Men are (mostly) strong, courageous, ambitious, persistent and reasonable.(On the contrary,) women are (mostly) kind, ignorant, weak and in need of help.
